This is open to members and non-members to learn more about AAENP and what we do to support Nurse Practitioners in emergency medicine. We understand the challenges students face during the Covid-19 pandemic and how it has impacted your education, family, and work. This is a perfect opportunity to unwind with your peers, make some new connections, and network with others!

AMCT: American College of Medical Toxicology COVID-19 Webinar Series

Update on Testing: New Saliva Test for COVID-19

Current bottlenecks for improving access of SARS-CoV-2 testing include diagnostic assay costs, complexity, and supply chain shortages. To resolve these issues, Dr. Anne Wyllie, Associate Research Scientist in Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases, and her team from the Yale School of Public Health have developed a saliva-based COVID-19 test as an alternative to testing using respiratory swabs. She will be describing this novel technology and discuss its applications.

Dr. Eveline Hitti, Associate Professor of Clinical Specialty at the American University of Beirut Medical Center, and Dr. Petra Khoury, Public Health Advisor to the Prime Minister for Health Affairs and Social Security for the Government of Lebanon, will focus on the approach that the nation, a low-resource setting, has taken to COVID-19 containment in the initial phases of the pandemic as well as emerging challenges.
