Shannon M. Litten, DNP, ARNP, ACNP-BC, FNP-BC, ENP-C

Dr. Litten is certified as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board and an Acute Care and Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.  She is licensed in the State of Florida as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, where she currently works clinically for TEAMHealth.  Dr. Litten holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, a Master’s in Nursing and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice.  Her experience ranges from college health to trauma with over 15 years in emergency medicine.

Dr. Litten is an adjunct nursing instructor for Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and Clinical Instructor at Florida Atlantic University, Clinical Biomedical Sciences.  She is an active member in AAENP, currently serving on the Membership Committee as the Lead Regional Director and formerly as the Southeast Regional Director.  She has volunteered her time and expertise for Group Mission Trips, Vanderbilt alumni recruitment, and Girls Scouts of America. 

Overall interests focus on assisting emergency providers in maintaining up to date, high quality healthcare practices in the ever evolving, highly stressful emergency medicine arena.  Special interests include promoting effective and fair healthcare policy and legal and ethical practices.  It is with great hopes her expertise will help benefit overall emergency provider practice and the patients they serve.
